Marie is a paralegal working within our Court of Protection team. With a degree in Politics and International Relations, Marie is studying for a LLM at Birkbeck and intends to qualify as a solicitor. She is committed to developing her knowledge and work within mental capacity law.
Marie has practical experience caring for vulnerable people. Prior to joining us, she enjoyed working in Copenhagen as a carer in a care home and as a childcare assistant in a nursery. She has also worked as a carer in an NHS Discharge Lounge during the COVID pandemic and subsequently in the community in Cornwall.
Marie is committed to listening to and advocating for marginalised voices. She has volunteered with Coach Bright, tutoring disadvantaged students to help build their self-confidence, has undertaken Women’s Aid training on supporting survivors to navigate the DDVC and the Domestic Violence Rule, and currently volunteers for Women Beyond Walls.
