Nadira is a skilled and experienced litigator, having worked in litigious practice for the past 8 years. Her passion has always been to help those most vulnerable and to ensure their rights are upheld. Joining Butler & Co’s mental capacity team in 2023 has allowed Nadira to fulfil this passion. Nadira represents such individuals in proceedings brought before the Court of Protection to consider a person’s best interests and make decisions about their health and welfare. These include Section 21A applications challenging authorisations of deprivation of liberty in a care home or hospital under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) and emergency applications, e.g. the transfer of a person lacking capacity to a new care setting, requiring a transfer plan with potential deprivation of liberty, requiring advance authorisation by the court. Nadira accepts instructions from individuals, family members, advocates and the Official Solicitor on a regular basis.
Nadira prides herself on the way she is able to build a rapport with her clients, ensuring their voices are heard and dealing with sensitive and personal matters with care, diplomacy and diligence.
In her spare time, Nadira enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys country walks and any activity involving food.
