Charlie joined the firm in 2018, having previously worked in criminal law as a police station representative and junior legal assistant. Charlie joined the firm in the mental health department and quickly started managing a diverse case load under the supervision of senior fee earners. Charlie is now a member of the Law Society Mental Health Accreditation Scheme (the Law Society’s panel of specialist Mental Health lawyers) and regularly represents clients at Mental Health Tribunals. He has a wealth of experiencing advising and representing clients detained under both civil and criminal sections. He also provides advocacy before the Hospital Managers.
Charlie also has experience working in the Court of Protection department and represents clients in section 21A proceedings. He has achieved a number of favourable outcomes for clients deprived of their liberty by virtue of their care arrangements and provides advice to advocates and clients alike.
Charlie has over 6 years experience in legal aid funded matters and he is a staunch advocate for access to justice. Charlie prides himself on his ability to develop strong working relationships with clients and he has a unique ability to convey complex legal matters in concise, understandable language. He is personable, professional and always willing to go the extra mile for his clients.
Charlie plays football and squash in his spare time and has recently began competing in Olympic triathlons. He completed the Bristol & Bath Marathon in 2015.
